Aerobics
Aerobics
I’m pretty sure that I can guess what came to mind: neon, leg warmers and some I-wonder-if-that-will-come-back again blue eye shadow. However, aerobics is far more of a vigorous form of exercise than the spandex-wearing ladies of the 80’s would lead you to believe.
What is Aerobics?
Aerobics is a specific form of cardio that focuses on upping your heart rate and hopefully lessening the scale. The upbeat practice focuses on cardio-vascular based exercises as well as combining strength training, muscle toning and flexibility. It’s pretty much an all round workout and you get to do it, more often than not, to some groovy tracks. The point of aerobics is to get as much oxygen in your body as possible in order to increase over all health and wellness. This means you can expect to be constantly moving for a good 10-15 minutes.
What can Aerobics do for me?
You definitely don’t want to be sweating and trying to keep up with your instructor for nothing. Luckily, aerobics offers a series of different benefits. These include:
- Improved circulation. Your blood will pump through your body at a significantly increased rate, leaving your body well oxygenated.
- You will sleep better. Burning off energy once a day is extremely beneficial to getting a good nights sleep.
- You will burn fat.
- Your fitness and endurance will improve as you work out more.
- Energy! Exercise releases endorphins, leaving you energized and awake for your day ahead.
