Cupping Therapy
There is wet and dry cupping, wet is when the practitioner makes a small cut in the skin where the cup will be placed. Some blood is extracted during this method, both of these methods work, because it creates hyperemia or hemostasis around a person's skin.
Many people usually use cupping to relieve pain, there are limited studies done on whether this actually works, but those that have focussed and had positive results in the back and neck area for pain relief. This is why athletes have been known for using it, it supposedly allows their muscles to relax so they do not get over stiff. Although there is limited studies done on this, it has seen great success as more and more people are interested.
